Server Policies

Community Rules

The following rules and policies govern play on the Dasaria persistent world. All players are expected to familiarise themselves with these guidelines before adventuring.

1. Roleplay First

Dasaria is a roleplay-focused persistent world. Players are expected to remain in character whenever possible and contribute positively to the shared story.

  • Public chat should generally remain in character.
  • Out-of-character comments should be clearly marked with "OOC:" or "((".
  • Party and private conversations may be out of character unless another participant objects.
  • Respect the immersion of other players.

2. Character Death & Bleeding

Dasaria uses an enhanced death system.

  • Characters begin bleeding at -1 HP.
  • Bleeding causes 1 point of damage per round until stabilisation occurs, healing is received, or death occurs at -10 HP.
  • Characters at 0 HP are automatically stable.
  • Constitution affects the chance of naturally stabilising.

Upon death, characters receive a temporary Mark of Death until raised, resurrected, or respawned.

3. PvP Policy

Dasaria is a full PvP server with Party-PVP rules, but PvP must be driven by roleplay and common sense.

Acceptable PvP

  • Character conflicts arising from roleplay.
  • Political disputes, rivalries, faction warfare, criminal activity, and other meaningful in-character motivations.
  • Consensual sparring and duels.

Unacceptable PvP

  • Random player killing without roleplay justification.
  • Harassment or repeated targeting of another player.
  • Attacking new or significantly weaker characters without a compelling roleplay reason.
  • Respawn rushing or repeated aggression immediately following a PvP defeat.

After a PvP Defeat

  • The losing player should leave the immediate area and allow the conflict to conclude.
  • The winner should allow the defeated player an opportunity to recover any dropped belongings.
  • Both parties are expected to behave respectfully and avoid escalating OOC disputes.

If a conflict reaches the point where a DM must intervene, common sense has already failed.

4. PvP Death Penalties

Death by Creatures

  • Experience and gold penalties may apply.
  • No items are lost.

Death by Players

  • No experience penalty.
  • No gold penalty.
  • Up to three equipped items may be dropped at the location of death.

Looting another player's PvP death bag when you were not involved in the kill is strictly prohibited and may result in administrative action.

5. Exploits, Bugs & Fair Play

Players are expected to help maintain the integrity of the world.

  • Report bugs and exploits promptly.
  • Do not intentionally abuse known bugs or exploits.
  • Do not distribute exploit information to other players.
  • Repeated abuse of exploits may result in item removal, character penalties, suspension, or banning.

6. Teleportation Network

Portal Stones provide fast travel throughout Dasaria.

  • Most Portal Stones require a corresponding key to activate.
  • Keys are usually found at the destination stone.
  • Some keys are obtained through quests or special events.

Traveling to a location for the first time is often part of the adventure.

7. Lore Items & Quest Items

Certain items are designated as Lore Items.

  • A character may possess only one copy of a Lore Item at a time.
  • Attempting to obtain duplicate Lore Items may result in their destruction.
  • Many quest items and Portal Stone keys are classified as Lore Items.

Players should exercise caution when storing or moving such items.

8. Item Transfers Between Characters

Transferring items between your own characters is permitted.

  • Item transfers are performed at the player's own risk.
  • Staff are generally unable to replace items lost due to crashes, connection issues, or transfer mistakes.
  • If assistance is required, players should request help from a DM when available.

9. Respect Other Players

Remember that there is a real person behind every character.

  • Be a good sport in victory and defeat.
  • Keep trash-talking to a minimum.
  • Resolve disagreements through roleplay whenever possible.
  • Treat fellow players and staff with respect.

The goal is to create memorable stories, not win arguments.

10. Housing

Player housing is available through approved in-character and community-oriented means.

Housing is intended to provide value to the world and community rather than serve as personal storage alone. Additional requirements, costs, and policies are subject to staff approval.

11. Administrative Authority

Dungeon Masters and Administrators reserve the right to intervene when necessary to preserve fairness, roleplay quality, and the health of the community.

Not every situation can be covered by written rules. Players are expected to use good judgment and act in the spirit of the game.
